Doretha Hair Truesdell will speak at our Wednesday Night program on the start of the Highwaymen Art Movement. Doretha was the wife of the Alfred Hair, the man who started it all. She learned to paint at his side and watched and joined a group of self-taught black artists who once sold their paintings out of the trunks of cars, now have paintings hanging in the White House, the State Capital and on mega-yachts. Come hear her story!
Learn to paint like a Highwayman Artist with Doretha Hair Truesdell and her son, Roderick Hair. Doretha learned to paint from her husband and the original Highwayman, Alfred Hair. She will teach you how to create the colorful and vibrant images of the Highwaymen.
The four hour class is $75.00 per person and includes all the artists materials you will need to create your very own masterpiece!
And of course, we don't want any starving artists in the group! There will be wine, beer, soft drinks and pizza! What could be more fun than a pizza painting party?
