Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday - December 3, 2024
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past twelve years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We hope you will consider donating to the Pompano Beach Historical Society on this special day. Monies donated are used to keep Pompano's history alive through the Kester Cottage Museums, monthly speaking programs, and special events that showcase the people, places and events of Pompano's past.
Local history is important as it provides a detailed understanding of the everyday lives and experiences of people in a specific place, allowing us to connect the past to the present, appreciate the unique stories of our community, and better understand how larger historical events impacted local lives; essentially, it helps us understand who we are as a community and where we came from by highlighting the triumphs and struggles of our ancestors in our specific location.
