The Old Pompano Historic Home Tour

On Saturday, March 24, 2007, residents and visitors will get an insider’s view of some of South Florida’s most intriguing homes and historic sites. On that date, the Old Pompano Civic Association and the Pompano Beach Historical Society, working with local homeowners and community organizations, will guide individuals through ten privately-owned residences and historic sites.

The previous historic home tour, held in 2001, was an outstanding success, with approximately 700 persons joining the event. It is anticipated that more than 1,000 individuals will attend the 2007 tour.

Historic Home Tour Venues

As of this date, the following historic homes and sites will be a part of the Old Pompano Historic Home Tour:
  • Cap Campbell House (1910)
  • Wooten House (1920s)
  • Robinson-Northway House (1920s)
  • Bailey-Saxon House (1924)

The tours will run from 10:00 Am to 3:00 PM and will begin at Founders Park (300 NE 2nd Street, Pompano Beach, FL).

The Old Pompano Neighborhood

Located in the heart of Pompano Beach, the Old Pompano neighborhood is one of South Florida’s oldest residential areas. The neighborhood was established soon after the Florida East Coast Railway arrived in 1896, and still contains dozens of homes dating from the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s.

The Old Pompano neighborhood has a relaxed ambiance, with a mixture of architectural styles, oversized lots and abundant trees and foliage. It has become one of the most desirable places to live in South Florida.
